Reports and insights
Turn the work record into repeatable answers about time, delivery, budgets, and contribution mix.
Reports help you answer a defined question from the work record. Insights surface signals that deserve attention. Start with the decision you need to make, then choose fields and filters that support it.
Explore the record
Open Reports, then Explore to build a view. Choose a time range and filter by project, client, tags, team tags, approval state, missing categorization, or billable state. Summary reports can group results by user, agent, workstream, project, client, tags, custom fields, or calendar period.
Useful starting questions include:
- Where did human hours go this week?
- Which projects are approaching budget?
- How much delivery combined human hours and AI agent contributions?
- Which clients or workstreams account for the most effort?
- What must be corrected before billing?
Use the smallest set of filters that answers the question. A heavily constrained report can look precise while silently excluding important work.
Save a reusable report
Save a view when the same audience needs the same answer regularly. Give it a name that states the question or recipient, such as “Weekly studio delivery” or “Acme billing review”.
Before sharing a saved report, confirm:
- The time range behaves as intended.
- Filters include new projects or members when appropriate.
- Currency and rate context are consistent.
- Incomplete or uncategorized entries are understood.
- AI contribution fields are sufficiently complete for the claim being made.
Read human and AI work together
Human hours and AI agent contributions describe different parts of delivery. Keep them visible as a contribution mix instead of collapsing them into one unexplained figure.
Reports can group tracked time by users and agents, but saved Reports do not calculate equivalent-output or leverage metrics. Those measures appear in configured client-report and portal views, where they should be read alongside the methodology and source coverage.
Use Insights
Open Data quality from the main navigation to review underlogging, duplicate-entry, long-entry, and long-day alerts. This surface requires the insights_alerts workspace entitlement.
Use each alert as a route back to the affected person, project, or time entry. Budget notifications and AI reporter coverage are separate from the Data quality alert list; review project budgets and AI reporting when those checks are part of your reporting process.
All workspace roles can open Reports. Viewers cannot modify saved reports, and amounts and profitability are limited to managers, admins, and owners.
Prepare a client-ready view
For an external report:
- Confirm the client and project boundary.
- Review descriptions for clarity and confidentiality.
- Resolve data-quality alerts.
- Check billable state, rates, and budget context.
- Explain the contribution mix in plain language.
- Share the saved report, export, or client portal approved for that audience.
Use clients and portals when the audience needs a live view rather than a periodic report.
