WhoWorked

ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to WhoWorked as a custom connector (remote MCP).

ChatGPT can connect to WhoWorked through a custom connector — a remote MCP server added in Developer Mode. Once connected, ChatGPT can look up your projects, start timers, log work sessions, and more.

Custom connectors require Developer Mode, available on ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu. On Business/Enterprise, a workspace admin may need to enable Developer Mode or allowlist the connector.

Setup

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Scroll to Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. (Depending on your rollout, this toggle may live under Settings → Security and login instead.)
  3. Back in the Connectors tab, click Create (or Add custom connector).
  4. Enter the details:
    • Name: WhoWorked
    • Remote MCP server URL: https://mcp.whoworked.com/mcp
  5. Create the connector, then click Connect and sign in to WhoWorked in the browser window that opens.

No API keys are needed — authentication happens through an OAuth flow with the WhoWorked platform.

Using it in a chat

ChatGPT won't always know when to reach for your connector, so name it explicitly. Start a new chat, and in the composer open the + menu → Developer mode, then select WhoWorked as a source.

Try: "Use WhoWorked to list my recent time entries."

Available tools

Once connected, ChatGPT has access to 17+ tools including:

  • Clients — list and get client details
  • Projects — list projects, get project details, create and manage tasks
  • Entries — create, list, start, and stop time entries
  • Tags — list and manage tags
  • Work sessions — log AI work with token usage and cost estimates
  • Docs — search and read the WhoWorked API documentation

Work or enterprise account?

On Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces, an admin can disable Developer Mode or must allowlist connectors. If you can't add the connector yourself, copy this and send it to your IT admin:

Hi — I'd like to connect WhoWorked (our time-tracking tool) to ChatGPT as a custom connector. Could you allowlist it (or enable Developer mode for our workspace)? Remote MCP server URL: https://mcp.whoworked.com/mcp. It uses OAuth, so no API keys are needed.

A note on Developer Mode

Developer Mode grants connectors broad access, so only connect servers you trust. ChatGPT shows a confirmation before any action that writes or modifies data, and you can revoke the WhoWorked connector at any time from Settings → Connectors.
