Clients and portals
Organize client work and share a controlled, live view of delivery, budget, and contribution.
Clients connect related projects to the external organization receiving the work. Client portals turn selected delivery data into a view you can share without giving someone access to the internal workspace.
Create a client
Open Clients, select New client, and add the organization name. The form also supports an email, logo, currency, and default hourly rate. Billing addresses, tax IDs, and additional contacts are not editable in the current client form.
Use one client record for one commercial organization. If separate business units require different contracts, currencies, access, or reporting, decide whether separate client records will make those boundaries clearer.
Review the client view
The client view brings together its projects and client-specific configuration. Use it to check that:
- Every active engagement is attached.
- Project names make sense to an external reader.
- Rates, currencies, and budgets are consistent.
- Old test or internal projects are not included.
- Client branding and dashboard settings are current.
Create a client portal
Open Client portals and create a dashboard for the intended audience by selecting a client. The portal automatically includes every active project attached to that client. After creation, configure the sections and disclosure settings the recipient should see.
Portals are designed for live budget and burn visibility. Treat the configuration as a publication decision. Include only the data that helps the client understand delivery, and review descriptions for confidential internal detail.
Configure the dashboard
A useful portal answers a small set of client questions:
- What has the team delivered?
- How much time or budget has been used?
- Where is effort concentrated?
- What is the human and AI contribution mix?
- What changed since the previous review?
Choose sections around those questions. Project coverage follows the client's active projects, so archive a finished project or change its client assignment when it should no longer appear. More widgets do not automatically create more trust.
Review before sharing
Before sharing a portal:
- Open it as the client will see it.
- Confirm the client, project, and date scope.
- Check names, descriptions, and notes for sensitive information.
- Resolve incomplete entries and data-quality alerts.
- Verify budgets, rates, currencies, and contribution methodology.
- Confirm the sharing link and custom-domain behavior expected by your plan.
Repeat this review whenever project access, dashboard configuration, or client branding changes.
Keep the portal useful
Assign an internal owner for each active portal. That person should review it on the same cadence as the client relationship, remember that newly created active projects for the client appear automatically, and retire dashboards that no longer have an audience.
Client portals are available to managers, admins, and owners. Custom-domain behavior depends on the workspace's subdomain and custom-domain entitlements.
For periodic or internal analysis, use reports and insights instead.
