Claude Desktop
Connect Claude Desktop to WhoWorked via the hosted MCP connector.
Claude Desktop supports MCP servers natively. Once connected, Claude can look up your projects, start timers, log work sessions, and more — all from the chat interface.
Setup
- Open Claude Desktop settings.
- Navigate to the MCP Servers section.
- Add a new server with the WhoWorked MCP URL:
{
"mcpServers": {
"whoworked": {
"url": "https://mcp.whoworked.com/mcp"
}
}
}- Restart Claude Desktop.
- When prompted, sign in to your WhoWorked account in the browser window that opens.
No API keys are needed — authentication happens through an OAuth flow with the WhoWorked platform.
Verifying the connection
Ask Claude: "What projects do I have in WhoWorked?"
If the connection is working, Claude will call the MCP server and return your project list.
Available tools
Once connected, Claude has access to 17+ tools including:
- Clients — list and get client details
- Projects — list projects, get project details, create and manage tasks
- Entries — create, list, start, and stop time entries
- Tags — list and manage tags
- Work sessions — log AI work with token usage and cost estimates
- Docs — search and read the WhoWorked API documentation
Claude Team / Enterprise
If you're on Claude Team or Enterprise, ask an Owner to add the MCP server URL to the organization's allowed servers. Individual users can then connect with their own WhoWorked accounts.
